Healthy Shabu-Shabu @ the Podium Mall

Attention "sabaw" peers! Oh, I am trying to attract the attention of those who loves eating soup or soup based dishes and not those who are already losing their rationality and creative juices. Working in an air-conditioned unit for 9 straight hours, I usually crave for something to warm my stomach and relax my nerves after a hectic day. This year, my boyfriend's birthday falls on a Wednesday. Since the Podium Mall is just a few blocks away our building, I decided to give him a simple birthday treat at Healthy Shabu-Shabu. :) Others might think that eating in a "Shabu-Shabu" restaurant is a horrible idea for some are afraid of cooking in-front of their dates where one might end up looking like an unskilled cook not knowing what to start pouring and messing their orders. Don't you worry for I promise this establishment is great for starters -cooking methods and budget wise!

Let me take you on a few table tour:

Chopsticks
Can you spot my Green Cross Sanitizing Gel?
Included in the dining set were strainer, soup ladle, chopsticks and a sheet of wet wipes.
First and second timers' cooking cheat. :)))
The meat cooking sheet.
Our pot of broth poured by their helpful attendants and our dipping sauce.
Let's eat, shall we?! :)))

Our soup base.
The Soup Base includes:
  • Healthy Shabu-Shabu special sauce
  • 1 fresh egg
  • Chopped garlic
  • Chopped onion stalks
  • Chopped chili
  • Fish paste
Their attendants helping us prepare our both.
First, the attendant dropped the chopped garlic, onion stalks, chili and shrimp paste. Then he cracked the egg, used the strain to pour in the egg whites into our broth then he put the egg yolks into the special Healthy Shabu-Shabu sauce. The other set of chopped herbs were dropped into our special dipping sauce and was then mixed finely with the egg yolk. Lastly, the attendant poured half of the special sauce (mixed with herbs and egg yolk) into our broth together with the tofu, sweet corn and yam (gabi). Me and my boyfriend poured the rest of the ingredients following the instructions given on the acrylic stand.

Mixed Seafood Set for Php405.00
Mixed Seafood Set: (clockwise) Sea cucumber, squid, shrimps, chicken dory and oysters.

And if you are afraid the Individual Set Meals might not fill in your hunger (construction worker mode), you can always rely on their Rice Toppings.

Beef Tenderloin Rice Php260.00
*Note: Their prices are inclusive of VAT and is subjected to 10% service charge.

I'll  make sure to try their meat dishes on my next visit . Yes, I am not kidding! They even have an US Angus Beef Set!

Hmmmmmm..... Who's hungry?! :)))

Random Week Finds (Last Week of February 2013)

Here's what made my final week of February 2013:

Dinner at Healthy Shabu-Shabu
It's my boyfriend's birthday week! Of course, it's my turn to treat him and make him feel like a king. Sort of! :)))

Marks and Spencer Swiss Extra Fine Chocolate
It is a gift for my boyfriend from our company health provider which he happily shared with me. He's not really fond of chocolates that is why I get to have larger servings than him. :)

Forever 21 SALE
I died! I am so happy that I went to take a peek at their ongoing sale last February 28, 2013. Guess what? I managed to snag these 3 treasures for a total of Php566.50 pesos only. Sira ang budget, but I am a giddy, happy, little brat after that! :)))

Magnum Chocolate and Strawberry
Oh not bad, though is doesn't replace Chocolate Truffle flavor on my top list. What disappoints me about this variant is that I am expecting a few strawberry bits in it and not just strawberry-flavored swirls in the middle.

Chic Polish in Neon Fuchsia
Since March marks the opening of summer 2013, it's about time we bring out all pastels and neons that are of so light and bright.

Vanity shot of the week!
I may find it a very challenging and stressful month but I managed to (somewhat) conquer it! Cheers to a wonderful and crazy February 2013!
