What's in my Bag? (Jan. 2013)

Never under estimate a woman's bag, either it be a huge "bayong" type of bag or a tiny minaudiere. Our bags are our sanctuary, little paradise and weapon of seduction as well as destruction.

Now let me share with you my daily corporate survival kit!

Ready for war. :)

Okay, since I have to take 4 types of public transportation before stepping within our company building premises I have to stick on medium sized bags.which I can easily secure when riding the tricycle, PUV, bus and jeepneys. Crooks are everywhere, mind you.

Meet my daily companion.
This Ann Klein bag was given by my aunt during one of her homecoming trips. I immediately fell in-love with it because aside from its practical size, it also beautifully complements my corporate wardrobe.

The 3 compartments.
It has 3 divisions. The two has a magnetic snap button for easy access whereas the middle one has a zipper closure to keep your wallet and mobile phones safe.

Clockwise: Fully booked Snake Skin Calling Card Case, Starbucks 2013 Planner, Adventurer Tweety Bird Pencil Case, National Bookstore Mini-notebook.
Being a corporate chick for 2 years, I can never leave the house without these warriors. As the saying goes "First impressions last" not to mention a person can only make it once so it is important to be armed with your calling card which can do all the introduction needed without sounding too "windy" sans worrying that the other party wouldn't be able to contact you for future references. In a corporate jungle, pens and paper are your weapons (with that is wit, connections, patience, humor, time management and very strong PR) for you to survive. I am also an old school type of person who stick to the traditional paper planners where I can doodle and jot down anything that comes into my mind.

Clockwise: Kara Nina Blue Polka Kikay Pouch, Polo Candy, AHAVA  Mineral Hand Cream, Paganini  Hair Brush, Green Cross Alcohol Spray, Giggles Baby Wipes, Hayden Green Tea & Peony.
In my line of work (HR), you meet new faces almost every single day. Shaking hands is a good gesture to cap off an interview, but doing such also makes the travel of virus from point A to point B faster. That is why it is wise to wash my hands often or if not be an alcoholic (topically). To keep myself fresh, I spray Hayden Green Tea & Peony to my pulse points as well as my hairbrush and comb it to my locks to keep it smelling clean.

Clockwise: My Kikay Pouch, Clean & Clear Oil Control Film, Estee Lauder Artist's Eye Pencil, Avon Moisture Rich Lipstick, Avon Simply Pretty Clear Mascara, Revlon Brow Fantasy, Avon Super Extend Mascara, TBS Cheek & Lip Tint, Fanny Serrano Eyelash Curler, Estee Lauder Deluxe All Over Face Compact, Avon Extra Lasting Foundation, Goody Stay Put Elastics.

No lady's bag is ever complete without the "kikay kit". Whether it be the basic face powder and cheek tint type or the artist's "baul" where all kinds of falsies and palettes are in it. Mine contains only the basics. Isn't it evident in the picture? The thing is, I always have to look fresh, alive and interesting (or at least interested) as possible. Having an oil mine in my T-Zone areas, I always stock up on oil-blotting sheets. I also make sure that I always bring with me Lip and Cheek tints to avoid looking like I just came out of the hospital or suffering from anemia. The rest are just optional, in case time, occasion and mood permits me to apply.

L-R: Fibrella Umbrella, Ink & Scissors Personalized Key Chain, Bag Holder, Penshoppe Coin Purse, Guess Wallet, Samsung & Nokia Mobile phones.

Mother Nature seems to be having mood swings these days that you can never predict whether it will pour or radiate (UV) to the extreme, that is why it is wise to always bring with you a folding umbrella (stylish and discreet). Of course one can never leave the house without any moolah unless you are doing an "Alay Lakad". I also never leave thy home without my two mobile phones. One is free from my personal plan (Samsung) whereas the other is my company issued corporate line (Nokia). Both bag holder and personalized key chain where gifts from work. :))

A confession:

During college when I first stepped alone in Manila (without my 'rents), I am proud to say that I never experienced the trauma of being snatched or hold-up. Except for my undies being stolen in our common bathroom where I hung them to dry when I laundry, which by the way is a total "eeeew"! I don't know, maybe I just don't appeal to those snatchers or I am street-wise! Haha! :)))
